President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sympathy to renowned author, Ms. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, and her family over the passing of her son, Nkanu Nnamdi, describing the loss as one of life’s most devastating experiences.
In a personally written message of condolence, the President said that as a parent who has also endured the pain of losing a loved one, he understands that no grief compares to the anguish of losing a child.
President Tinubu said his thoughts and prayers are with Ms. Adichie, her husband, Dr. Ivara Esege, and the entire family at this difficult time, noting that he shares in their sorrow.
The Nigerian Leader described Ms. Adichie as a literary icon whose works have brought joy and inspiration to homes across the world, and prayed that God would grant her and her family the strength to bear the irreparable loss.

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, the renowned Nigerian author, and her husband, Dr. Ivara Esege, were thrown into mourning on January 7th, over the loss of their 21-month-old twin son, Nkanu Nnamdi Esege, who passed away after a brief illness.
