President Tinubu Confers National Awards On Senate President, CJN, Others

The Nigerian Leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has conferred the National Honours Awards of Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger GCON, on the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio and the Chief Justice of the Federation, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun.

The President made this known on Tuesday, October 1st, during his live nationwide broadcast to commemorate Nigeria’s 64th Independence Anniversary celebration.

President Tinubu also announced the conferment of the honour of Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) on the Deputy Senate President, Suleiman Barau and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas.

He also made known that Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has been awarded the honour of the Commander of the Order of Niger (CON).

“As is the tradition, the government will soon announce all the beneficiaries of our national honours for 2024.

“The Senate President and the Chief Justice of the Federation have been conferred with the honour of the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON).

“The deputy Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives have the honour of Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR), while the deputy speaker of the House has been awarded Commander of the Order of Niger (CON).” President Tinubu added.
