President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Senator John Azuta-Mbata on his election as the president of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide.
A congratulatory statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga also conveyed President Tinubu’s felicitations to the group on the successful leadership transition and enjoined the new leaders to uphold the principles of their predecessors.
Recognising the critical role of socio-cultural organisations in nation-building, the Presidential aide restated President Tinubu’s commitment to promoting dialogue among ethnic nationalities.

The newly elected Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Azuta-Mbata, a former senator, represented Rivers East in the Senate from 1999 to 2007.
He was elected as president of the pre-eminent Pan-Igbo socio-cultural group at its meeting in Enugu on Friday.
