The Nigerian Leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed confidence in the security architecture of the country saying his administration is more focused on securing lives and property of citizens rather than probing the Service Chiefs.

The President during the Monday Presidential media chat recalled the past experiences of security challenges that have confronted the country, saying gradually Nigeria is winning the war against insecurity.

President Tinubu highlighted the place of investment in technology and weaponry as well as training in defeating the enemies of the state.

He said; “I have confidence in my security architecture of the country. It is very, very unfortunate that two decades of wanting killing. I remember when I jumped into the campaign. I had to stop the campaign to pay condolence visits to maiduguri, Katsina Kaduna, others today. You can still travel the roads before now, it was impossible.

“You cannot say the military is not prepared when the 9 Brigade Battalion was attacked, you can’t laugh at your nation because of that. The enemies within and without are watching what you are doing. You have to be prepared 100%, 24 hours of the time, to make sure that people are safe. Today that is not the story any longer.”

President Tinubu affirmed that the Nigerian government has already set effective control mechanisms in place to monitor budget releases and ensure judicious use for released funds.

There might be leakages here and there We put a very effective control mechanism in place to monitor our budget releases, and those funds have been judiciously used,” he stated.

President Tinubu lauded the Nigerian Military for their resilience and dedication, saying their efforts have resulted in the relative peace the nation now enjoys in previously volatile regions.

He said; “Consider the welfare of our service men and women, consider it. They are living and are operating in a very serious conditions. We have huge country, a very huge and lot of forests, unoccupied spaces.”

Highlighting recent improvements, the President emphasised that many previously dangerous roads are now passable, stressing there was room for improvement.

The President emphasised the importance of respecting the Service Chiefs even as he expressed confidence in their capabilities.

He said; “I’m not probing anybody service chiefs or service chiefs. You cannot disrespect the institution.

“Give them credit for what they are doing. I am proud of what they are doing to date. No need to probe alright.”
