President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), Dr. Zacch Adedeji, on the occasion of his birthday, praising his transformative leadership of the nation’s revenue agency.

In a statement released by the Presidential Spokesperson, the President commended Dr. Adedeji for bringing fresh ideas and global best practices into the 83-year-old institution, particularly through the automation of systems and the upskilling of staff to enhance efficiency and national development.

President Tinubu described the NRS Chairman as a visionary and charismatic leader whose dedication has helped to restructure, align and strengthen Nigeria’s revenue profile.

He noted that under Adedeji’s leadership, the agency recorded a historic milestone of meeting its budget targets in the third quarter of 2025, a development he said has contributed significantly to stimulating economic growth and prosperity.

The President also commended Adedeji’s role in the adoption of the National Single Window, a landmark federal digital platform designed to streamline import and export processes, improve transparency and drastically reduce cargo clearance time from 21 days to just one week.

Dr. Adedeji’s career spans both the private and public sectors.

He previously served as a senior member of Procter & Gamble’s management team, Commissioner of Finance in Oyo State, and Executive Secretary of the National Sugar Development Council, where he established the National Sugar Institute.

Before his appointment as Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service in September 2023, he also served as Special Adviser to the President on Revenue.

President Tinubu prayed for God’s continued blessings on Dr. Adedeji, asking that he be granted many more years of good health, wisdom and strength in service to the nation.
