President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has received in Audience, the class of 1999 Governors led by former Governor of Delta State, James Ibori.
The meeting convened at the State House, Abuja, reaffirmed the historical and political connections among the cohort of Nigeria’s pioneer democratic governors and highlights ongoing dialogues for national progress.
On Friday, the former governors paid their respects and engaged in closed door executive session with President Tinubu, a distinguished member of the cohort, having served as Governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007.
The class of 1999 Governors includes prominent political figures who were first elected at the dawn of Nigeria’s Fourth Republic.
Among its ranks are influential figures such as Donald Duke of Cross River, Lucky Igbinedion of Edo, and Niyi Adebayo of Ekiti, alongside others who have wielded significant influence in Nigeria’s political space over the years.
