President Tinubu Mourns Former NNPCL GMD, Thomas John

President Bola Tinubu has condoled with the family, friends, and colleagues of the late Dr. Thomas John, former Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), now NNPC Ltd.
The President in a statement signed by his Spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale acknowledged Dr. John’s remarkable and impactful dedication to developing the Nigerian oil and gas sector, while recognising his years of tireless service to the nation.

 

President Tinubu prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed and divine comfort for those who mourn the loss of the distinguished Nigerian.

 

Dr Thomas John was a seasoned administrator and an oil and gas industry professional.

 

John’s tenure spanned from April 1990 to June 1992, during which he contributed significantly to the development and management of the nation’s petroleum resources.

 

Thomas John held various positions within the industry. He served as a Non-Executive Director at South Atlantic Petroleum (SAPETRO), he assumed the role of Executive Chairman at Hydropec Engineering Services Ltd., and was a former Non-Executive Director at United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc.

 

Dr Thomas John died at the age of 84.
