President Tinubu mourns Herbert Wigwe, Others

Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has grieved the demise of Access Holdings PLC Group CEO, Herbert Wigwe, his family members and the Former Group Chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group Plc, Mr. Abimbola Ogunbanjo

Mourning the deaths of the business leaders, President Tinubu said in a statement signed by his Spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, that he received the news of their passing with shock and deep distress.

He described their deaths as an overwhelming tragedy that is shocking beyond comprehension

“After receiving an official confirmation of events, President Bola Tinubu receives with shock and deep distress the news of the passing of Mr. Herbert Wigwe, top banker and entrepreneur, and Mr. Abimbola Ogunbanjo, OFR, former Group Chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group Plc, along with members of the Wigwe family.

“The President condoles with the Wigwe and Ogunbanjo families, the business community, and all those impacted by the sudden demise of the departed.”

President Tinubu prayed for the peaceful repose of the dead and asks God to comfort the multitude of Nigerians who are grieving and the families of the deceased at this agonizing moment.

The late Herbert Wigwe, was the Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings Plc and founder of the How Foundation.

Wigwe was reported to have died following a helicopter crash in California near the Nevada border in the United States of America.

There are also reports that his wife and son were also onboard the ill-fated helicopter.

The New York Times reports that no survivors have been located as of Saturday morning
