President Tinubu Mourns House Deputy Chief Whip, Oriyomi Onanuga

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed profound sadness over the passing of Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga, the Deputy Chief Whip of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, who passed away on Wednesday, January 15th, 2025, after a brief illness.

In a condolence statement issued by the Presidential Spokesperson, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu noted that Rep. Onanuga was a role model who demonstrated that with hard work, integrity, and dedication to just causes.

The President also said that the deceased member of the House of Representatives, Oriyomi Onanuga was fervent in serving her constituency, and her passion for building a better Nigeria will remain unforgettable in the hearts of those who came in direct contact with her.

“Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga, who represented Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency of Ogun State, served as Chairperson of the House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development in the 9th Assembly and as deputy Chief Whip in the 10th Assembly.

“On behalf of the Federal Government, the President offered his deepest condolences to Hon. Onanuga’s family, loved ones, the government and the people of Ogun State, particularly her constituents in Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency.”

President Tinubu prays that God will grant the soul of the departed eternal rest and provide divine comfort to her family and all who mourn her loss.
