President Tinubu Orders Urgent Treatment for Abuja Tanker Explosion Victims

Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered immediate medical attention for those injured in the devastating tanker explosion at Karu Bridge, which resulted in multiple accidents and tragic loss of life in Abuja on Wednesday night.

The President’s directive ensures that survivors receive prompt care at various healthcare facilities across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

In an official statement from his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu also urged security agencies, particularly those focused on road safety, to enhance traffic monitoring around the city’s key entry and exit points.

Additionally, the President has called for a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the explosion, which occurred during peak traffic hours, affecting numerous vehicles and leading to significant casualties.  The president condoled with family members who lost loved ones in the inferno.

President Tinubu also prayed for the souls of the departed and the grace of the Almighty God to comfort families that have lost their loved ones.

The Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Department confirmed the Karu Bridge tanker explosion, which reportedly occurred around 7:14pm on Wednesday.

Authorities confirmed that a truck lost control near the Karu Bridge, situated between Kugbo and Nyanya on the Abuja-Keffi Expressway.

The explosion led to a massive inferno, engulfing multiple vehicles, with about 10 persons reportedly dead and others severely injured.
