President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s steadfast commitment to enhancing Nigeria’s power infrastructure.
He has pledged to mobilise the necessary resources for the development of ten additional mobile power stations throughout the nation.
He made the statement while receiving a delegation from Siemens Energy, led by Dietmar Siersdorfer, Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa, at the State House, Abuja.
The President said the initiative forms part of his administration’s broader strategy to enhance electricity generation, transmission, and distribution as a catalyst for industrial growth and national development.
“There is no industrial growth or economic development without power. I believe power is the most important discovery of humanity in the last 1000years.
“I appreciate the partnership on the Presidential Power Initiative (PPI). The progress to date is notable, and we can feel it, but not where we want it to be.
“We appreciate the support, the commitment of both the German company and your company,” he said.
The Nigerian Leader noted that reliable energy remains indispensable to the nation’s socio-economic transformation, underscoring that education, healthcare, and transportation sectors cannot thrive without adequate power supply.
President Tinubu said the investments being made by his administration, alongside Siemens Energy’s commitment to the power initiative, are perfectly aligned with Nigeria’s long-term vision for sustainable growth and national development.
“The investment that we are making and the commitment that you are making align with the future of this country. Our education, our health care, and our transportation all depend upon energy, and without power, it is an impossible objective.
“We are taking it very seriously… in addition to that, we are going to resource and find a way to fund the additional ten mobile stations as long as we follow this up.
“I look forward to more achievement and acceleration on the transformer substations that are expected to be commissioned.
“We are all inspired and happy that it is a thing that we must all achieve for this continent to see the glory of economic recovery and banish poverty,” the President added.
