The president, in a statement on his official X handle @officialABAT on Tuesday, said he was staying updated on the latest developments and awaits a full briefing to ensure swift action and support for all affected.

President Tinubu further made known that the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) is already addressing the situation.
“I am staying updated on the latest developments and await a full briefing to ensure swift action and support for all affected.
“The NRC is already addressing the situation, and necessary steps are expected to be taken to prevent similar occurrences in the future,” the president stated.
A passenger train travelling from Abuja to Kaduna derailed on Tuesday morning shortly after departing Abuja along the Kaduna route.
The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) confirmed in a statement on Tuesday that the train derailment involved its Kaduna-bound AKTS train service.
