President Tinubu Restructures Nigeria Power Company Board

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the Chairmanship of the Federal government-owned Power Company Board to the Office of the Minister of Power.

 

The President approved a statement issued and signed by his Spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, on the reconstitution and amended structure of the Governing Board of the FGN Power Company.

 

Approved as the Board Vice Chairman is the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun —

 

To serve as members are the Managing Director/CEO, FGN Power Company — Member, Director-General, Bureau for Public Enterprises — Member, Managing Director, Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) — Member.

 

Other members are Distribution Companies’ Representative — Generation Companies’ Representative — Member, President, Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) — Member

 

Furthermore, the President has approved the removal of the Steering Committee from the governance framework of the FGN Power Company with full oversight powers granted to the Office of the Minister of Power.

 

President Tinubu approved the changes with full expectation that the reduced structure will provide better organisational efficiency in delivering the complete modernization of the nation’s electric power transmission grid in collaboration with Siemens Energy for the benefit of all Nigerians.
