A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abubakar Aliyu, has hailed the decision by President Bola Tinubu for removing subsidy on petrol.
Aliyu spoke to State House Correspondents on Friday, after attending Friday’s congregational prayers at the Aso Rock Villa Mosque.
Abubakar Aliyu, who was the Chairman of the defunct Youth Support Group for Tinubu/Shettima Campaign for the 2023 presidential election, told Journalists that the decision taken by the President would soon yield the desired results for the country.
He said: “President Bola Tinubu has made a good decision by removing the subsidy on petrol. The decision is similar to what obtains in most developed countries. This will revive our economy and provide more resources for developmental purposes.
“He promised a lot during his campaign that he needs to fulfil and this decision will help stop corruption in the oil sector as well as curb the smuggling of petroleum products from Nigeria to other countries. Also, there will be openings that will lead to the creation of more jobs for our youths. ”
Aliyu used the opportunity to call on President Tinubu to inject youths into the system as he sets up his cabinet.
He also urged the incoming 10th National Assembly to support the new administration of Bola Tinubu by promulgating laws that will improve the lot of the common man as well as enhance good governance.
