A Sociopolitical Support Group of Nigeria’s President, the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Vanguard, has called for auditing of Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs of the government.

In a press statement, the Convener of BAT Vanguard, Mr. Sola Olofin called on Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu to also order further investigations into some Government officials that have been probed by antigraft agencies.

The reason for the probe and auditing, according to Mr. Olofin is to recover looted funds which could be used for the country.

Mr. Olofin explained that the call for auditing is not to probe former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration but rather a continuation of anti-corruption investigations that the immediate past president started.

The audit will enable Federal Government recover looted funds back to Government purse which will greatly assist in the implementation of the “Renewed Hope” agenda.

“This call should not be misconstrued to President Tinubu probing the Buhari Administration, but on the contrary and as a matter of fact, be a continuation of the probe initiated by President Buhari of persons in his Government and that of President Goodluck Jonathan who helped themselves and cronies with public funds” Olofin said.

As a means to cut down the cost of governance, Mr. Olofin advised the President to consider merging some Government agencies before reviewing the National minimum wage.

I am urging Mr. President and C – in – C to revisit the Orosanye Report on merging of some Government agencies who have over-lapping responsibilities in order to cut down the current cost of Governance before the planned review of minimum wage. It is an incontrovertible fact that there is so much wastage in Government and Mr. President will do well by first tackling and blocking all leakages, restructure the agencies of Government for greater efficiency and transparency” Olofin said.
