President Tinubu to Attend Inauguration of Senegal’s President-Elect

The Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja, for Dakar, Senegal on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, to attend the inauguration of Senegal’s President-elect, Bassirou Diomaye Faye.

This was made known on Monday in a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.

He also disclosed that the President’s trip was at the invitation of the Republic of Senegal.

The ECOWAS Chairman will join other regional leaders to witness Tuesday’s inauguration at the Diamniadio Exhibition Centre.

The President will be accompanied on the trip by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar and other senior government officials.

He is expected to return to Nigeria after the inauguration.
