President Tinubu’s 73rd Birthday: A significant moment for Nigeria – Minister

The coincidence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 73rd birthday with the final days of Ramadan fasting and the Christian Lenten season represents a significant moment for Nigeria and its leader.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris said this convergence highlights the nation’s unity in purpose, as both religious observances emphasise devotion, reflection, sacrifice, and acts of kindness.

Idris stated these on Friday at the National Mosque where he joined other Muslim faithful for the commemoration of President Tinubu’s 73rd birthday and offering of special prayers for Nigeria.

He emphasised the importance of the holy month of Ramadan and the Lenten season as a beneficial coincidence for Nigeria, expressing hope that this period will foster greater unity among Nigerians in their shared commitment to praying for the nation’s development and progress.

“It is a significant period for our country and it is also significant as the President of this country as he marks his 73rd birthday.

“It is significant to note that instead of partying,he has chosen to national Mosque so that prayers could be offered. 

“The coincidence of President’s birthday with the last 10days of Ramadan is significant it is a time of worship and the last 10days of Ramadan is a very important period for all Muslim faithful. 

“It is also not a coincidence that it is also coinciding with the lent period that is been observed by the Christians 

“So we hope that all the barakah, all the blessings contained in the last 10days of Ramadan will be showered on our leader the President, on our country and on all the leaders of this country.

 “We are happy that all Nigerians are facilitating with him and we are also happy that Nigerians those that are around here and those who have travelled for Umrah and those who have also travelled to Rome all of them Muslims and Christians will come together and pray for the country, pray for our leader the President, pray for the prosperity that our country requires so deeply.

“We do hope that this would be the turning and the beginning especially as the President now meets his mid term in office.

“And may this period also be the beginning of the forging of more unity for all Nigerians so that together we can build a Nigeria we all desire.” He added.

The Minister urged Nigerians to continue praying for the nation and the President to ensure the successful realisation of the Renewed Hope Agenda, which was promised upon the President’s assumption of office.

Idris prayed to Almighty Allah for renewed strength and greater wisdom for President Tinubu on his 73rd birthday, enabling him to continue leading Nigeria in peace.

“Not just for him but for the entire country to enable him to lead this country to prosperity as he has taken this promise upon the assumption of office we do hope and we pray that Allah will grant him the strength and the wisdom to continue to pilot the affairs of this country. 

“We pray to Allah to grant him the wisdom we pray to Allah to give the strength to continue to lead this country in peace.” The Minister added

It would be recalled that the Nigerian Leader, President Bola Tinubu joined fellow Muslims at the National Mosque in Abuja on Friday, March 28th, for a special prayer session for the nation and to mark his 73rd birthday, March 29th, which falls within the last ten days of Ramadan fasting period.

At the special prayer session, President Tinubu said he has re-dedicated himself to more service to Nigeria and promised citizens more hard work for peace of all.

He also said he sought divine intervention to address Nigeria’s pressing challenges, including ensuring national stability, fostering peace, and safeguarding the lives and property of all citizens.
