President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is unwavering in its commitment to enacting transformative changes across all sectors of Nigeria’s economy.
The Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mallam Lanre Onillu, shared this message during the official launch of the National Values Charter and the New National Anthem in Awka, Anambra State, on Tuesday. He was represented by Mrs. Uju Nwolisa, Deputy Director of Procurement at NOA Headquarters.
Onillu emphasised that President Tinubu’s administration is a comprehensive transformation efforts that span various critical areas, including energy, infrastructure, education, and social welfare. He urged all stakeholders—religious leaders, civil society organisations, and citizens to support the President’s development initiatives.
Stressing the importance of collaboration, the NOA Director General called on Nigerians to unite with President Tinubu in the quest for a prosperous nation. He articulated that the sensitisation programmes on the National Values Charter and the New National Anthem are designed to address crucial national issues, foster civic engagement, and highlight the significance of these initiatives.
He also appealed for patience with the current federal administration, assuring citizens that President Tinubu understands their challenges and is dedicated to improving their lives.
Additionally, Onillu noted the programme’s role in inspiring patriotism and national unity. He revealed that the Federal Executive Council has mandated the integration of these values into school curricula, ensuring that the principles of the National Values Charter and the New National Anthem are instilled in young Nigerians. Furthermore, he proposed that value orientation be a mandatory component of the one-year National Youth Service Scheme, in collaboration with the NYSC.
Highlighting the achievements of President Tinubu’s administration, he mentioned initiatives such as the Student Loan Scheme, the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (CNG), economic reforms, social welfare programmes, and infrastructural development.
Welcoming Onillu to Anambra State, Mr. Edozie Ajaegbu, State Director of NOA, emphasised the importance of the sensitisation programme in fostering a strong Nigerian society free from oppression and division. He commended the Director General for his deep passion for Nigeria and commitment to the nation’s holistic development.
Mr. Remigus Obi, Deputy Director of Programmes at NOA Headquarters, added that the National Values Charter and the New National Anthem were carefully crafted to enhance the government’s service to the people. He noted that the third stanza of the New National Anthem has been officially adopted as Nigeria’s national prayer, while the first and second stanzas will be sung during official ceremonies.
The event attracted a diverse audience, including prominent journalists from Anambra State and various stakeholders, and featured a Question and Answer session with attendees.
