Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council of the University of Ilorin, Yazid Rafindadi is dead.
The demise of the Pro-Chancellor was confirmed on Thursday by the Director of Corporate Affairs of the University, Mr Kunle Akogun.
In a statement signed by the Register and Secretary to Council of the institution, Dr Fola Olowoleni said; “Rafindadi died during a brief illness.
“The demise of the Katsina-born former Secretary to the Government and Head of Service to the old Kaduna State is coming barely 2 weeks after he announced the outcome of the selection process of the new Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin.
“May God forgive his shortcomings and admit him into aljanah firdaous.”
The University Community condoles with the family, the emirate, Katsina State Government and the entire people of Katsina State.
“We pray God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss,” the statement added.
The late Yazid Rafindadi replaced the Chief of Staff to President Buhari, Professor Ibrahim Gambari as the Board Chairman of Savannah Centre.
He was appointed the Governing Board Chairman and Pro-Chancellor of the University in 2021.
