Sensitisation

The Comptroller also sensitised travelers and border communities on the immigration requirements for travel which are possession of a valid travel document, place of embarkation, reason for travel, appropriate visa (where applicable) and Basic Travel Allowance (BTA) in order not to constitute a public charge in the destination country and bring embarrassment to the nation.

He also enlightened all on the dangers of irregular migration and trafficking in persons.

The customers in their response, appreciated the Comptroller for organising such an event and sensitising them on the ills of irregular migration and human trafficking and for also providing travel advisory which undoubtedly would strengthen their relationship with the Immigration Service and bring about greater and meaningful engagements with border stakeholders and the traveling public.

The Nigerian Immigration Service week is an annual event to assess and reinforce the level of service delivery of the Immigration officers.

It also afford the customers of the Immigration Service to interface with immigration officials and give effective feedback on the services of the Nigerian Immigration Service.
