Protest: Kaduna Police arrests 39 suspects, Tailor producing Russian flags

The Kaduna State Police Command says it has apprehended 39 suspects who exploited the “End Bad Governance” protest and were displaying Russian and Chinese flags within the metropolitan city of the state.
This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan in a statement made available to newsmen in Kaduna.
According to him, the suspects had mobilized and engaged in the vandalization of private and public properties and also caught damaging properties including; a Hilux vehicle belonging to Kaduna Vigilante Services, KADVS, and a Toyota Yaris owned by a journalist.
“While the Police, in collaboration with other security agencies intervened to restore order, the suspects became hostile and resorted to using stones, catapults, and other weapons but the police managed the situation by restoring calm with the minimal use of tear gas,” the statement read in parts.
The PPRO further stated that 39 suspects were arrested at the scene, including a tailor who was sewing the foreign flags for the group, as Police recovered 38 Russian flags, one Chinese flag, two catapults with a bag of stones, and various vandalized items.
He said the State Commissioner of Police, CP Audu Ali Dabigi, while commending his officers, also issued a stern warning to all residents to comply with the imposed curfew, assuring that violators will face arrest and prosecution by the law.
The CP also appealed to all citizens to cooperate with the Police and other security agencies during this critical period. The curfew is in place to protect lives and property and ensure the swift restoration of peace in Kaduna State.
