Protest: Kano State Government Reacts to Use of Russian Flags by Protesters

The Kano state Government in North West Nigeria has reacted to the widespread use of Russian Flags by protesters in the state.

 

The spokesperson to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Mr Sanusi Bature clarified that, the protesters carrying Russian flags were not affiliated with the government.

 

He explained that, the genuine protesters had submitted their grievances to Governor Yisuf, which would be forwarded to President Bola Tinubu in Abuja.

 

Senseless killings and looting

Bature noted that, the Kano State Government will set up a committee of inquiry to investigate those behind the senseless killings and looting of public buildings in the state .

 

The commission will ascertain the root causes of the killings and destruction of public buildings and identify those responsible behind the acts.

 

Bature while speaking on those apprehended said, 632 suspects were arrested for vandalizing public buildings during recent protests in different parts of the state.

 

He said, the suspects were arrested during the protests and have since been arraigned before various courts in the metropolis.

 

He emphasised the state government’s commitment to maintaining peace and order, warning that those found guilty of vandalism will face the wrath of the law.
