Qatar Charity Foundation, Borno State establish Islamic Centre

The Borno State Government and the Qatar Charity Foundation have established Bolori Islamic Centre in the State.

The centre, featuring a Jumma’at Mosque, orphanage home, integrated school, shops, clinics, staff quarters, and charity office, promises to transform the state

During the event, the State Director of Qatar Charity Foundation, Sheikh Hamdin Abdu, who expressed joy at the collaboration thanked Governor Babagana Zulum for providing the land and foreseeing the center as a branch to cover all local governments in the state.

Sheikh Hamdin pledged to work with various ministries for the prosperity of the state and extended support to Governor Zulum’s ongoing developmental efforts.

Governor Zulum, in his remarks, appreciated the Qatar Foundation’s goodwill and  emphasized the center’s role in countering radical ideologies, similar to those of Boko Haram.

The Governor laid the foundation stone for the construction of the orphanage school, Jumma’at Mosque, shops, clinics, and more.

Acknowledging the challenges faced, Governor Zulum highlighted the impact on over 100,000 orphans in Borno State due to the Boko Haram insurgency. He shared official figures and stressed the need for continued efforts to resettle internally displaced persons.

The Governor commended the positive impact of the project and pledged more land for future development, expressing hope for additional centers in all 27 local governments.
