Queen Elizabeth II: Flags fly at half mast in Niger State

The Niger State Government in North central Nigeria has directed that all flags across the State be flown at half-mast in honour of the late Queen Elizabeth of England.

The directives according to the Secretary to the Niger State, Ahmed Ibrahim Matane followed the Nigerian Government directive for all flags to be flown at half-mast in the country and Nigerian Missions abroad, effective from Sunday, 11th September 2022 and Monday 12th September 2022 in honour of Her Majesty the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Matane disclosed that as the world mourns the passing of an iconic figure of the centuries, the people and Government of Niger State’s deepest sympathy and condolences go out to His Majesty King Charles III and the rest of the Royal Family.

Queen Elizabeth II died on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at the age of 96, making her the longest Royal to live in British history.

She was immediately succeeded by her 73-year-old son King Charles III.
