The Governor of Adamawa State, Umaru Fintiri has felicitated with the Muslim faithful in the state and in the country at large as the holy month of Ramadan commences.
“We thank the Almighty Allah for sparing our lives to witness this year’s holy month of Ramadan;
May our act of ‘Ibadah’ throughout the month and beyond be accepted with great blessings and the ultimate reward. Ameen.” The Governor prayed.
He called on Muslims in the State to spend the Ramadan period praying for unity of the country and for peace in the country’s election processes.
The governor noted that Ramadan is a period for sober reflection, for Muslims to move closer to God,.
“It is therefore an opportunity for us to increase our supplications to God for the unity of the country and for peace to reign in our dear nation,” he said.
Fintiri also enjoined Muslims to observe the fasting with fear of God and genuine desire to make positive changes in the country with prayers and supplications.
“We should not shy away from the fact that the country is facing serious challenges and all efforts must be geared towards surmounting these challenges especially that we have the opportunity to elect leaders that would lead us for another four years. It is no coincidence that we conduct elections during the holy month. The Ramadan has presented one of such opportunities, hence I urge that we maximise the opportunity,” he emphasized.
The Governor therefore wish all Muslims a fulfilling Ramadan, praying that the Almighty Allah accepts their supplications during and after the period of the fasting as an Ibadah for them.
