Ramadan: Niger State Governor appeals to traders against price hikes

Niger State Government in North Central Nigeria, has appealed to local business groups against arbitrary hikes in the prices of their commodities during the Ramadan fast .
The Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello who acknowledged the immense economic challenges facing the state and country, enjoined Muslims on using the Ramadan period for prayers and seeking spiritual cleansing towards a better society.
The Governor, according to his Chief Press Secretary, Mrs Mary Noel Berje, who described Ramadan fasting as a soul searching exercise and a spiritual turnaround, urged the faithful to make good use of the holy month.
“Muslims should remain steadfast in imbibing the salient lessons of the Ramadan fast which are love, compassion, honesty, piety and peaceful coexistence” added Governor Sani Bello
He also called on the Muslims to pray for an end to the prevailing security challenges in the country, assuring that government will continue to do its best in securing the lives and property of the citizens.
