Rangers International Football Club of Enugu coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, says that the one all draw with Kwara United Football Club in Ilorin was one of the two possible outcomes he envisaged on Sunday.
His team held the home team to a 1-1 draw away from home turf to the total discomfort of Kwara United, who believed they were in the upswing after pulling a draw, away, with highly rated Rivers United last week.
Speaking on the outcome, Coach Elechukwu of Rangers, said that he came for a result in Ilorin.
If Kwara could pick a result from Rivers, we felt we could pick one here too,” he said after the match.
He also commended the home team saying that he didn’t know that Kwara United was this good.
“I was really shocked at just how their coach changed the game in the second half. Kwara United surprised me in the second half,” he said.
The home team, looking for an encore after an impressive goalless draw at Rivers United last week, were shocked to their marrows when the visitor came out smoking from the blast of the whistle.
Early into the game and Rangers were  already imposing their dominance.
The packed Kwara State Stadium was shocked into silence after, Kazeem Ogunleye of the visiting team scored from 25 meters yard from a free kick cleverly tucked behind the home team net.
The match ended 1-0 in the first half.
But the second half saw a different purposeful Kwara United.
The push back yielded result in the 53rd minute after Mohammed Alao rifled home a shot from outside box.
The match ended a one all on both sides.
Speaking in the post match conference, Kabir Dogo, Kwara United Coach said that the draw wasn’t what he set out to achieve.
But this is football, anything can happen,” he said.
