This weekend will mark a new beginning for Manchester United as interim manager Ralf Rangnick has secured a work permit.

The 63-year old German tactician formally took over on Monday, but could not resume immediately.

This was because his papers were still being processed.

With his status now settled, Manchester United fans can sit back and watch a new dawn take hold of Old Trafford.

It all starts on Friday when he will hold his first press conference.

He will however allow caretaker manager Michael Carrick oversee United’s crunch home tie against Arsenal Thursday night.

A positive result could be the re-set button needed for the ailing Red Devils – and Rangnick will be vital.
