The Nigerian Red Cross society, Anambra state branch, took to the streets to share love with the less privileged by presenting cooked foods and drinks to them.

Speaking at one of the locations, the branch chairman, Professor Charity Emelie said that they were trying to do charity and show love.

“We are showing love to the less privileged, times are tough and the masses are hungry and suffering. These food items are not enough but it is our little way of supporting the residents in times like this.

‘Red Cross was founded to protect human life and health, to ensure respect for all human beings, and to prevent and alleviate human suffering.”

She encouraged Nigerians to show love not only on world love day but everyday for even God Himself is love.

During their visit to about three different locations, packs of cooked foods like rice, soft drinks and water were distributed to more than 800 people.

The group also visited the Red Cross children motherless babies home in Onitsha.

The branch secretary, Engr Kingsley Okoye; the state branch disaster management officer, Mr. Orji Peculiar; State officers; members and volunteers of Nigeria Red Cross society Anambra state branch from both Idemili South division and Idemili North satellite division joined in the street feeding programme.
