Red Dish Chronicles wins national hospitality institute cooking competition

The Red Dish Chronicles has emerged winnner for the cooking competition at the Gastronomy Festival gala night.
The event which was organized by the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism held in Abuja on Saturday night, 17th June, 2023.

They were rewarded with a trip to Tunisia and double door freezer.

Mastermind catering and culinary institute came second and were rewarded with gaint four door freezer while chef’s academy won the third price if deepe freezer 50 capacity.

Yema Simon won the NIHOTOUR’s best staff for 2022 to 2023 with a trip Senigal with his spouse.
Some prominent stakeholders in the industry were also recognised and awarded for their tremendous contributions in the tourism sector
Speaking on the award the Director General of National institute for Hospitality and Tourism, Mr Nura Kangiwa said that, the award is aimed to encourage staff institute to work harder.
He promised Nigerians and lover of food and Tourism that Gastronomy which started in 2021 will return three times better in next year.
“Next year’s gastronomy festival will be twice or maybe three times bigger than this one. Just the way I promised you last year that this year’s event will be larger. So promise made, promise kept”. He says
Earlier, Tourists from across the world jostled to taste various dishes from different countries on Saturday in Abuja as Nigeria hosts the 3rd edition of its gastronomy festival.

The festival was organised by the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR) with the theme: “Culinary Arts: The Gateway to Growing Tourism Destinations.’’

The tourists engaged in cultural diplomacy and integration as they learnt the basics of food processing, preparation, packaging and presentation from one another.

Gastronomy is also known as the Art of food.
The United Nations has set aside every 18th of June to celebrate the Art of food.
