On 30 June 2025, Nigerian Grammy-nominated star Rema headlined Madison Square Garden in a landmark performance that thrilled fans with an array of his chart-topping hits.

The acclaimed artist delivered renditions of the breakout tracks that have cemented his status as a global sensation since his emergence in 2019.

The concert forms part of his ongoing world tour, which follows the release of his Grammy-nominated sophomore album HEIS, a body of work that features prominently in his set list.

During the show, Rema brought out award-winning rapper Odumodublvck for a joint performance of their collaboration War Machine. He was later joined by rapper Shallipopi to perform their hit single Benin Boys.

The Madison Square Garden performance marks another milestone for the multi-award-winning artist, who continues to play a key role in the global export of Nigerian music. His international hit Calm Down, featuring Selena Gomez, made history as the first song by an African artist to surpass one billion streams on Spotify.

As seen throughout his current tour, Rema shared the stage with wax figures of global Afrobeats icons Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy—collectively regarded as the genre’s “Big 3”.

This symbolic gesture aligns with Rema’s ongoing assertion that he belongs among the elite, a sentiment echoed in the lyric “there’s no longer a Big 3; there’s now a Big 4” from his track Hehehe.

Prior to this performance, Rema had sold out London’s O2 Arena and Paris’ Accor Arena, joining the ranks of Nigerian superstars such as Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Asake, who have also headlined Madison Square Garden.

The concert underscores Rema’s standing as a global force in music, and a leading figure in the rise of Afrobeats on the world stage.
