Rep Leaders Call Ubah’s Death a Major Loss for Nigeria

The Speaker of the House of Representatives Mr . Abbas Tajudeen and his deputy, Senator Kalu have both expressed shock on the death of the lawmaker representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.

The Speaker expressed sadness and shock in a condolence message issued through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, in Abuja on Saturday.

Senator Ubah, who was a businessman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Capital Oil, reportedly died in London on Saturday.

Speaker Abbas, who described Senator Ubah as one of the pillars of the ruling APC in the South-East geopolitical zone, also said he was a dedicated lawmaker, successful businessman and great philanthropist.

Supporting the APC
He recalled how Senator Ubah recently donated funds supporting the APC in Anambra State, and how the late lawmaker celebrated the creation of the South East Development Commission a few days ago.

In his remarks, the deputy speaker,  Mr Benjamin Kalu through his Special Assistance Press Affairs, Udora Orizu described the late lawmaker as a patriot and philanthropist, who made remarkable strides in the parliament, media, sports and petroleum downstream industry.

 

He also recalled Senator Ubah’s determination to bring about a change in the fortunes of the people of his zone and the entire nation.

Kalu noted that Ubah contributed immensely to the socio-economic development of Nigeria and through his Company Capital Oil Nigeria Ltd, football club, Ifeanyi Ubah FC of Nnewi, Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation, Authority newspaper and other numerous businesses provided employments for many Nigerians.

The leaders described the Senator’s death as a great loss to Ndigbo, and Nigeria as a whole, stressing that he will be sorely missed.

 

They prayed to God to grant Senator Ubah eternal rest.
