Repositioning Voice of Nigeria, my priority – Director General

The Director General of Voice of Nigeria (VON), Mr Jibrin Ndace has promised to reposition and rebrand the organization to retain its pride of place in the comity of international stations.

Mr Ndace disclosed this during a familiarization tour/interactive session with the staff at the broadcasting house in Ikoyi, Lagos state southwest Nigeria.

The DG who reeled out his plans for the organization reiterated his commitment to take VON to greater heights, with the introduction of new technology and innovation, while staff would be motivated to enhance productivity.

According to him, VON is the authoritative choice and I will like to sustain the tempo as the mouthpiece of Nigeria to Nigerians in diaspora and international communities. I have come to play my role as director general and as it is said in military parlance,” soldier go soldier come, barrack will not empty.

“We are going to re-energize and reorganize the organization with technological advancement as well as training and retraining of our staff to make them compete favourably with their colleagues in other media houses.

VON is a brand and has been leading in quality and standards broadcasting operation since 1961 as an external service. We are going to ensure that we use holistic approach to repositioning and rebranding to sustain the legacies of our forefathers who have placed the organization in a better position before now. 

Reacting to questions on how to make Lagos and Abuja staff equal, he assured staff that equal treatment and equitable distributions of resources to all concerned, adding that Lagos was the starting point of external service delivery before it was moved to Abuja.

“Lagos is critical and I cannot ignore the Lagos office because of its peculiarities and importance, it is a new dawn for both Lagos and Abuja and by extension Voice of Nigeria as a whole. 

While promising to equip staff members with requirements in the areas of training, capacity building and motivating them with a good welfare package, the DG sought collective efforts of every staff to discharge their duties as expected to make them take the glory together.

The DG after familiarization /interactive session alongside Directors, Deputy directors among other staff inspected Lagos offices as well as the transmitting station in Ikorodu.
