RHI Recapitalisation Grant: 37,000 Women to Benefit Nationwide

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has announced that 37,000 women nationwide will benefit from the Recapitalisation Grant provided by the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), a program focused on advancing women’s economic empowerment.

The announcement was made during an event in Makurdi, Benue State, where food supplies were distributed to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), people with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups.

Senator Tinubu, who was represented by the wife of the Vice President, Mrs. Nana Shettima, revealed that 1,000 women from each state and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) will receive a recapitalisation grant of N50,000 each, as part of RHI’s initiative to boost economic opportunities for women.

The initiative focuses on supporting women in small-scale trading, aiming to enhance their businesses and expand economic opportunities.

Senator Tinubu emphasised the importance of the RHI in aiding marginalised communities, aligning with President Tinubu’s commitment to nationwide food security and self-sufficiency.

She also announced that on August 22nd, the program will distribute a shipment of assorted food supplies to targeted groups in the state.

Benue State Governor, Fr. Hyacinth Alia, praised Senator Tinubu for her support of women in the state, as well as individuals with disabilities and other vulnerable populations.He expressed appreciation for the ongoing support from Vice President Kashim Shettima, which complements efforts aimed at assisting the most vulnerable in the state.

The Special Adviser on Women Affairs to the Governor, Mrs. Scholastica Sor, praised the Renewed Hope Initiative for its significant support, particularly in empowering women through agricultural programs.

Over 200 women have been chosen to benefit from the initiative, highlighting its dedication to advancing women’s empowerment in Benue State.
