The Managing Director, Upper River Niger Basin Development Authority, Prof. Mohammed Ali has called for the collaborative effort of all stakeholders to address the security challenges in Nigeria.

Professor Ali stated this in Minna, the Niger State Capital while receiving a prestigious award from the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Bosso, and Maikunkele divisions in Niger state.

He noted that effective collaboration between the government, security agencies, and other stakeholders would ensure adequate security that would facilitate speedy development.

Professor Ali expressed optimism that “the Nigerian Government would pay more attention to the issue of security in the Basin for development to thrive.”

He promises that the Authority would continue to assist all security agencies and associations related to security in the discharge of their responsibilities.

The Managing Director thanked the PCRC for recognising his contributions, saying it is a call for him to do more.

The Chairman of PCRC, Alh. Bello Auta said the choice of Ali as the recipient of the awards was a result of his selfless service and recognition of security outfits within his domain.

He said; β€œThe way and manner he assisted police divisions with boreholes, toilet facilities, and solar systems prompted us to recognise him.

β€œAli has given the Bosso and Maikunkele divisions of PCRC adequate support, which had helped personnel in the effective discharge of their duties,’’ he said.

Auta added that the award was to encourage him to do more as well as encourage others to emulate him in services to humanity wherever they found themselves.

In his remarks, SP Emmanuel Daniel, a Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Charge of Bosso, appreciated the management of the institution for assisting the police to discharge their duties.
