The Rivers State Government has dismissed as false the claims circulating on social media that a delegation from the Pan-Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) paid a solidarity visit to Governor Siminalayi Fubara at the Government House on Sunday, March 16, 2025.

The government also denied reports that former President Olusegun Obasanjo visited Governor Fubara in Port Harcourt.

In a statement, Nelson Chukwudi, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, described the claims as malicious and aimed at inciting unrest in the state.

He urged the public to disregard the false reports, attributing them to mischief makers intent on causing disruption.

Governor Fubara reaffirmed his commitment to implementing the Supreme Court’s judgment on the state’s political crisis.

However, despite his efforts to facilitate compliance, the Rivers State House of Assembly has refused to cooperate.

The Governor remains committed to ensuring a peaceful resolution and the smooth functioning of all arms of government in the state,” the statement reads.
