The Gubernatorial and State House of Assembly Election has generally been categorised by low voter turnout across the various polling units in Rivers State.

Voice of Nigeria reports that even though the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC officials were on ground as scheduled, voters were just trickling in at the various units without any form of pressure on election officials.

The Rumuwoji community playground housing wards 12, 13 and 14 with about 29 polling units were devoid of the crowd of voters that thronged the place at the presidential election even as party agents were overheard calling out and attracting voters to their various polling units.

Smooth Process
However, party officials and agents praised the process saying it has been smooth and seamless devoid of any hitches.

Wilson Osinachi Awosike SDP agent at ward 12, Polling Unit 9 told our Correspondent that “INEC officials were very punctual arriving at the place ahead of many of them.”

He added that “all the materials required for the election were intact and that the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System BVAS machines were functioning optimally.”
