Rivers United of Port Harcourt will meet Tunisian outfit Club Africains in Group C of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.
They will also face Ghana’s Dreams FC and Angola’s APC Lobito .
The draw took place in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Club Africains won the African Club of Champions Cup in 1991 when they recorded a 6-2 home win against Ugandan side SC Villa after a 1-1 away draw in the first leg.
Rivers United will return to Angola for the second-straight season having been drawn alongside Academica do Lobito.
Angolan side Lobito qualified to the group stage eliminating Al Merreikh of Sudan 3-0 on aggregate.
To get to this stage, the Port-Harcourt Blues beat stubborn Etoile Filante de Quagadougou 2-0 on Sunday in the return fixture of the second preliminary round at the Adokiye Amiesimaka stadium after playing goalless in the first leg.
The group stage clashes will commence on 26 November, promising excitement and drama as the fight to reach the knockout phase begins.
With giants of African club football involved, the CAF Confederation Cup is set for thrills and spills right from the outset.
