Rivers United Forward Rafiu Kayode Joins Slovenian Club Maribor
Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) star Rafiu Ishaq Kayode has joined Slovenian side NK Maribor on a three-year contract from champions Rivers United on a free transfer.
Kayode scored 14 goals and provided 3 assists for Rivers United to help clinch the league title which impressed Maribor.
Prva Liga club Maribor announced the signing of Kayode on its official twitter handle.

“Ishaq Kayode Rafiu, welcome to the People’s Garden!,” NK Maribor said on twitter.
The 21-year-old forward is primarily a left-footed winger who plays predominantly on the right, but can also play down the middle as a centre forward.
Maribor won its 16th title on the final day of the 2021/2022 Prva Liga season after defeating reigning champions Mura 3–1.
As winners, they qualified for the first qualifying round of the 2022/2023 UEFA Champions League.
