Rivers United To Play CAF Confederation Cup Games In Uyo
Rivers United will play their CAF Confederation Cup home games at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
The Confederation of African Football released the list of approved venues for the group stage on Tuesday.
Stanley Eguma’s side have now been denied the use of their home ground, Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt for the second season.
The Port Harcourt club also played their group stage home games in the competition at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium last season.
Rivers United to face Club Africains in CAF CC
Rivers United are in Group C with Club Africain of Tunisia, Ghana’s Dream FC and APC Lobito of Angola.
The former Nigeria Premier Football League champions were eliminated at the quarter-final stage of the competition last season.
The Pride of Rivers lost 2-0 on aggregate to Young Africans of Tanzania.
They will be looking to make history as the first Nigerian clubside to win the CAF Confederation Cup
