Road construction will engender development – Ugwuanyi

The Enugu State Government says its massive construction of roads is intended to link communities and local government areas for rapid development of the state.

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi made the assertion during the unscheduled inspection of some of the link road projects embarked upon by his administration at 9th Mile Corner, Ngwo, Amankwo-Eke Odudo-Ameke Ama brewery roads.

Other roads he inspected were Opi- Nsukka dual carriage road, Echara-Ogurugu road as well as Orba road.

He explained that the construction of the roads was in line with the campaign promises to the people to make democracy dividends available to them without hitches.

Addressing the people at two separate points in Ogurugu and Enugu roads, both in Nsukka Local Government Council, Governor Ugwuanyi noted that government objectives can only be achieved through constant prayers, active participation and support of the people in all governmental affairs and programmes.

Grass-root development
According to the governor, Enugu State Government has earmarked the sum of one hundred million naira to develop each of the seventeen Local Government Councils of the state in order to facilitate its grass-root development projects designed to uplift the living standard of the people.

In their response some of the people of the area commended Governor Ugwuanyi for his human oriented development strides put in place to better the lot of Enugu citizens.

They noted that the administrative projects and policies of the government would go a long way to open up hidden businesses in order to attract local and foreign investors to the state.
