Road Safety boss congratulates officers for re-certification

Bolchit Pam, Abuja

The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps-FRSC, Boboye Oyeyemi has congratulated members of staff and stakeholders on the recent re-certification of the Corps in “Quality Management System Certification” by the Standards Organisation of Nigeria.

Oyeyemi while declaring open a three day capacity development workshop, for the Heads of Zonal and Sector Operations, at the FRSC Academy Udi in Enugu State stated that the revalidation was the outcome of the collective contributions of all the officers of the Corps.

Achieving global standards
According to him, the re-certification which came after a painstaking review of the Corps’ three years of sustained activities was an indication that FRSC officers have shown commitment to the global standards in road safety management and administration.

“We have no doubt and convinced that these efforts are yielding positive results, as FRSC has not been found wanting in any of its statutory responsibilities, despite the enormous challenges that the nation faces in the area of traffic management,” he maintained.

The Corps Marshal, who urged the officers not to rest on their oars, however,  stressed  that  its  management policy was aimed at ensuring effective development of the capacity of the members of staff.

He said those holding strategic positions at the Field Commands, needed to have their operational, administrative and managerial capabilities improved upon for greater efficiency in the system.

“We must reciprocate these kind gestures of Mr President by showing our capability and willingness to support his socio-economic programmes aimed at changing the lives of the people of Nigeria for better,” Oyeyemi urged.

He thereafter enjoined participants to make the best use of the opportunity provided by the workshop to learn new methods of doing things and contribute their own quota to the policy development of the Corps.
