Safety Protocols: Kano State to launch COVID-19 Marshals

In a bid to curb the spread of the second wave of coronavirus, the Kano state government in North West Nigeria is set to launch COVID-19 Marshals in the state.

The state Governor, Umar Ganduje who disclosed this to Journalist after the stakeholders meeting on COVID-19 held in Kano said that the Marshals will be launched on Sunday, January 24, 2021, to help implement the COVID-19 safety protocols in the state.

He said there was the need to tackle the issue of COVID-19 with all seriousness adding that the challenges noticed are non-compliance to COVID -19 protocols and the resistance of some cases to be isolated so that they get real medical attention, as well as non-compliance of some people who refused to come for sample test and actions, need to be taken.

Ganduje said the state government had also held a meeting with security agents to find a template on how compliance would be enforced and effected adding that this is absolutely necessary.
