Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has called on the people of the state to uphold peace and support good governance for the overall development of society.
Speaking through his Deputy, Abdulsalam Gwarzo, the governor made the appeal while receiving the Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammad Sanusi II, who paid him a Sallah homage at the Government House in Kano.
Governor Yusuf expressed gratitude to the Emir for the visit and encouraged residents to preach peace, pray for the well-being of the state, and refrain from immoral behavior.
Showing compassion
He urged the public to draw lessons from the significance of Eid-el-Kabir by showing compassion and extending kindness to those in need.
Highlighting the critical role of peace and good governance in the progress of Kano State, the governor appealed to citizens to remain law-abiding and actively contribute to maintaining harmony within their communities.
He also offered prayers for the souls of athletes who tragically lost their lives while returning from national sporting events, extending heartfelt condolences to their families and praying for their eternal rest.
Commended the governors
In his remarks, Emir Muhammad Sanusi II, accompanied by key traditional leaders, commended the governor’s commitment to peace and development.
He also urged residents to uphold the teachings of Eid-el-Kabir, practice compassion, and continue promoting peace and lawful conduct.
The Emir reiterated the importance of unity and cooperation in achieving lasting peace and sustainable development in Kano State.
