Sanwo-Olu wins Lagos APC Governorship Primary

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been declared winner of the Lagos State APC Governorship Primary Election.

The Governor who polled 1,117 votes was the only aspirant cleared for the Party’s election that was held at Mobolaji Johnson Arena Onikan, Lagos amidst tight security and under the watch of the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission.

After the voting exercise, the Chairman of the five-man committee, Alhaji Adamu Yuguda, said that one thousand and one hundred and ninety-eight delegates were accredited out of one thousand two hundred and twenty-five ad hoc delegates expected at the venue.

Alhaji Yuguda who confirmed that three persons bought the forms, clarified that the other two aspirants were not cleared.

 

On his part, Lagos APC Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi commended delegates for comporting themselves in an orderly manner and  expressed optimism that the party would remain united after the primary to continue to win elections in the state.

Reacting to winning his party’s candidature, Governor Sanwo-Olu thanked all delegates and  party members for deeming him worthy,  and described it as an affirmation of the confidence reposed on him, promising not to let them and the entire residents of Lagos down.

 

The Governor however assured that he would continue the good work his administration had been doing in the State and do a lot more, by taking the State to greater heights.
