SDP Chairman: Opposes Electricity Tariff Hike, Urges Aid for Citizens

The Social Democratic Party, SDP, in Nigeria has called on government to do anything possible to alleviate the surfferings of citizens.

The National Chairman of the Party Mr. Shehu Gabam who made the statement called on the government to also review the recent hikes in electricity tariff to caution the hardship on citizens.

Mr. Gabam who made the statement at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja Nigeria’s capital when he received the the members of the parliament under the auspices the Social Democratic Party, SDP.

Positive impact

He said the party would protest any increments that would not have positive impact on citizens and that Nigerians are yet to feel the subsidy removal on fuel since last year.

The National Chairman further said that the Legislators under his party will kick against any policies that has no human face that will not alleviate the surffering of Nigerians.

The SDP Legislators further passed a vote of confidence on the National Chairman of the party Mr. Shehu Gabam and the members of the National Working Committee, NWC.
