The Speaker of House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila says a second batch of amendment to the 1999 constitution will soon start.
Gbajabiamila disclosed this while fielding questions from reporters at Government House, Ilorin, Kwara State.
He said; ”there will be more devolution of power from the exclusive to the concurrent list in the new amendment.”
The Speaker also disclosed that both chambers of the National Assembly will harmonise the amendments and send to the State Houses of Assembly.
In his remarks during the private visit of the Speaker to the Government House, the State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq talked about the need to have more women in government especially 35% affirmative.
Governor AbdulRazaq added that political appointments should be increased for womenfolk and urged other States to emulate Kwara in this regard.
