Second Term: Tiv Communities in Nasarawa State Endorse Governor Sule

The Tiv communities in Nasarawa State have pledged to support governor Abdullahi Sule’s bid for a second term in office.

The President of, the Tiv Development Association(TIDA), Mr. Peter Ahemba, stated this when the Tiv communities in the state paid a courtesy visit to the governor in Lafia the state capital.

He commended Governor Sule for being proactive in dealing decisively with the security threats in the state, which he said had not only brought peace to Nasarawa-South but all parts of the state.

Ahemba, however, said that the commitment of governor Sule has yielded results, as a lot of Tiv people who were displaced from their ancestral homes have now returned.

“To whom much is given, much is expected, the administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule has given so much to Tiv people. To this end, rest assured of our continued support to the people oriented policies and programmes of your administration.

“There is no gain saying that your administration is anchored on the principle of transparency, accountability, and the fear of God”, 

“It is, therefore, our collective result to support your reelection comes 2023 as a reciprocal to your kind gesture towards our people”, he said

Responding, the Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, expressed gratitude to the caliber of Tiv leaders, stakeholders, youths, and women for turning out in large numbers despite the rain for the visit.

He explained that this is the first visit that brings all Tiv leaders irrespective of whatever diverts and prayed that they should remain united like this for more benefit from the government.

Governor Sule further urged the Tiv communities to leverage on their rich cultural heritage to build bridges of unity and peaceful coexistence amongst them and with other ethnic communities for programs to enjoy more dividends of democracy.

The Governor said that his administration would continue to promote peace and initiate good policies and programmes that would have a direct bearing on the lives of the people of the state.
