The Executive Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has inaugurated a multi-agency capacity building training program organized by the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS).

The training in a statement by the spokesperson of the Brigade Captain Olubodunde Oni aims to enhance the skills of security agencies in the state in areas such as weapon handling, basic first aid, and advanced drivers’ retraining and maintenance skills.

Represented by the Secretary to the Government of the State, Mr. Timothy Kataps, Governor Kefas noted that the program marks a crucial step in strengthening the security architecture of the state.

“Today marks a crucial step towards enhancing the security architecture of our beloved state, and I am immensely proud to see representatives from various security agencies gathered here with a shared commitment,” the governor stated.

The Commander 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 OPWS, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, explained that the two-week training draws participants from different security agencies in the state and units under the Brigade.

The training is in line with the Chief of Army Staff’s (COAS) vision to consolidate the transformation of the Nigerian Army towards bequeathing a well-motivated and combat-ready force.

The training program specifically addresses key areas critical to operational readiness, such as:

– Weapon handling
– Basic first aid
– Advanced driving and maintenance skills

These components are fundamental to the effectiveness and responsiveness of security operations. Brigadier General Uwa emphasized that such knowledge could mean the difference between life and death during field operations and would improve the mobility and adaptability of security forces across the state.

The Commander expressed deep gratitude to the Taraba State Government for its unwavering support despite limited resources.

He particularly acknowledged Governor Agbu Kefas for logistics support, including vehicle donations, which have greatly enhanced operational efficiency.

The training is expected to strengthen inter-agency synergy and ensure security operatives are better equipped to tackle the evolving security dynamics within Taraba State and beyond.
