Seed Association To Establish More Offices
The Seeds Entrepreneurs and Development Association of Nigeria, SEEDAN, says it will establish an office with working facilities in Abuja and one in each geo-political zone across the country.
The National President of the association, Alhaji Yusuf Ado Kibiya, announced this while addressing newsmen in Kano on Tuesday.
In addition to this, he noted that the association had begun campaigns to sensitise farmers and other stakeholders to the importance of seeds to the development of agriculture.
Kibiya said that the campaign would enlighten government at all levels on the importance of seeds and to inform farmers about new generation seeds.
He also said that the group would work with relevant international agencies that were willing to help the country’s seed sector.
He said that “the association would work with research institutes and universities for the development of early generation seeds.”
According to him, the association will work to raise the value of seed industries by working with financial institutions to make financial access easy.
